Traditional Metal BracesOrthodontics is the speciality of dentistry that is concerned with the study and treatment of malocclusions (improper bites), which may be the result of tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships or both.
What is involved in Orthodontics?
Teeth that are crowded or out of alignment can often be moved into the correct position using various orthodontic methods. Traditional braces, invisible (clear) braces and fixed or removable appliances can all be useful in achieving the smile you always wanted.
What is Invisalign?
Aberdeen dental is pleased to offer Invisalign as an alternative to traditional metal braces. The invisalign system uses a series of clear plastic aligners to achieve the desired tooth movement. You take them out to eat and for brushing and flossing maintaining healthy gums during treatment.
How long would I be wearing my aligners?
The time line for invisalign cases vary. The more tooth movement needed will require more time. Most cases range from 8 months – 15 months.
Does Invisalign work for everyone?
Invisalign does not appropriate for all orthodontic cases, it all depends on the severity of the case. You would need to come in for an initial consultation to determine whether you would be a good candidate.
